I have lots of fond memories of Aunt Margie. I remember when she and Alfred came to MN for visits. As a child, I always looked so forward to those visits. Several years ago, we made a trip to Florida and spent a few hours with her at her beautiful Port Charlotte home. I also remember a couple stories I was told about her. One was her childhood talent of snaring streaked gophers. She was an expert at it - she'd lay quietly on the ground with her little snare over their hole in the ground and when they'd pop their heads up... "bam"! She would sell them for a good amount after her daily catch! My second favorite memory was hearing about the day she and Grandma Tessie (her mom) and sisters, Gladys (my mom) and Bernice (funny crazy Bernice) went to Red Wing, MN for a day of shopping. They stopped for lunch and someone's straw made a funny noise against the plastic top of their drink. So they all started moving them up and down making all sorts of "musical" sounds and from what I heard, Margie sat back as if to say "these is my crazy family"! I think they actually had her speechless that day! Loved this lady and was blessed to call her my Aunt Margie! Blessings to you all as you grieve her passing - I know we will see her again one day in Heaven - I'm also guessing she is trying to keep those other three in line as we speak!
